Can anyone please help me with understanding the identification of the containers?

Answers 1

It is very important to inspect the container, before making a purchase. One of the most important thing is to check the container code which is encoded in eleven digits. FOr example if “TGH U 301259 9” is the container code, then the initial digits such as “TGH” in here stand as the OWNER CODE. Next comes the product group code which can be made up of anyone of these codes - U, Z or J. In here U stands for shipping container. J stands for equipment that can be attached to the container and Z stands for the trailer used to carry the container. This code is followed by a six digit number, in case of our example “301259”. The six digit number is the followed by a check digit which is used to cross-verify the identification sequence. This is how you can can decode the container identification code.
