Port of Tacoma was constructed in 1833 as a result of the arrival of Hudson Bay Company who were looking for a site for a trading post. In the year 1853, the first cargo was shipped from the port to San Francisco. After which, the port of Tacoma was officially incorporated in the year 1875.
